About Me
Hi, I’m Anika – and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’v been working in mental health for over 20 years. My journey began as a registered mental health nurse in the NHS, where I supported people in a wide range of settings, often in times of acute distress or complex need. That experience gave me a strong foundation in crisis management, trauma-informed care, and working compassionately with individuals facing a variety of challenges.
About five years ago, I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), and now I specialise in working with people experiencing low self-esteem, ADHD, and the emotional impact of trauma—including those recovering from difficult or harmful relationships.
I currently work part-time in the NHS and also offer private sessions as a fully accredited CBT therapist with the BABCP. My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapy, but it’s also compassionate, mindful, and deeply human.
I know how exhausting it can be to carry the weight of perfectionism, self-doubt, or feeling “too much” and “not enough” at the same time—especially when you’ve had to mask, manage, or survive more than others realise.
Therapy with me is a space to gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface, reconnect with your sense of self, and develop tools to move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
Alongside CBT, I integrate Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I’m also currently training to become a qualified mindfulness teacher, and I love weaving those principles into the therapeutic process to support calm, clarity, and emotional resilience.
